What’s Riddle Me Dead about?
Tess is invited to be a special clue-reader on her Aunt Candace’s (Barbara Niven) favorite game show, “Riddle Me This.” Things take an unexpected turn when the show’s host is mysteriously murdered. When it turns out multiple crew members had motive and access, including Hunter (Jon Cor), who is also Tess’s ex, is this a crime too puzzling for even Tess and Logan to solve?

Lacey Chabert (Tess Harper)
Chabert is a staple at Hallmark Channel. She’s been in almost two dozen films across both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. She and Brennan Elliott have starred together in multiple projects including the All of My Heart series of movies on Hallmark Channel. Fun fact: One of her first acting roles was as Bianca Montgomery, Erica Kane’s daughter on All My Children.
Brennan Elliott (Logan O’Connor)
Brennan Elliott has starred in over a dozen projects for Hallmark Channel, including being part of the main cast of Cedar Cove. This real-life liver lover (yes, we asked him his favorite food!) played the host of the show within the show on Lifetime’s UnREAL.
Barbara Niven (Candace)
Barbara Niven stars as Candace, Tess’s aunt. A lonely widow, Candace’s favorite game show is Riddle Me This so Tess invites her to a taping. Candace and Chauncey strike up a friendship and spend a lot of their free time together. Niven, a real-life motivational speaker, also stars in Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark Channel.
John Kapelos (Chief Chauncey O’Connor)
Chauncey is Logan’s dad as well as his boss at the police station. He and Candace spend time together taking cooking classes. Fun fact:Kapelos has appeared in three John Hughes movies—Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science.
Jon Cor (Hunter)
Jon Cor plays Hunter, the game show’s riddle writer and Tess’s ex. This is Cor’s fourth film for the Hallmark networks. He also co-starred opposite Chabert in Love on Safari, which was filmed on location in Africa. Fun fact: Among many other roles and jobs, Cor has also written a novel, In Heat.
Cardi Wong (Frank Cidre)
Frank is Tess’s coworker at the newspaper. Wong has had supporting roles in over a dozen movies for Hallmark Channel and its sister networks. The Vancouver native was part of the cast of Lifetime’s A Sugar & Spice Holiday, the first holiday movie featuring an all Asian cast. Fun fact: Wong’s father named him Cardi because he loves rum!
